Dr. Rao trained in surgical oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He has completed training in head and neck oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York, USA. He has also trained in endoscopic laser surgery for head and neck cancer at the University of Kiel and the University of Göttingen, Germany.
He coordinates with other specialists, such as radiation oncologists and medical oncologists, as part of cancer care.
