He completed his surgical oncology training at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He then completed a fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York. He also trained in endoscopic laser surgery for head and neck cancer at the universities of Kiel and Göttingen, Germany.
